used cars under 1000
A: I will give you a link to a car buying walk through. It has a few checklists you can print out and bring with when you are looking the car over. Cars under $1,000 probably won’t be too reliable, so make sure you check that basics, feel the way the transmission shifts, and check turn signals, hazards, brights..etc.. If you have any questions, you can email me. Good Luck.

I’m pooorrrr ahhhhh lol
A: lets just say you cant get an import for under 1000 that will have any where decent miles. – Look through the sale ads far an older car with the least amount of miles. A buick or olds will probally be best because its target market new were older adults over 60. Last yr I bought a 1992 buick century for 750 it had 55000 miles on it and guess what I bought it from a old lady. – Take a chance and drop buy a old folks home and ask the person in charge if you could post a note that you are looking to buy a car.

A: www.cars.com, www.autotrader.com. You can put in what you are willing to pay, and bring up cars in your range. Only thing is, most cars sold cheap people won’t pay to advertise online or in a paper. Drive around town & look for cars for sale in people’s yards, go to car lots & go to the row farthest back from the road: that’s where they always stash the cheap ones – as if to isolate them from the newer, shiny ones – LOL! You may also want to call some banks & check on what they have reposssed to sell. Go to local auto salvage yards to see if they have any easy fixers that run. And check with Goodwill or other such organizations – they take donated (tax write-off) cars & fix to resell. Happy hunting!

and don’t expect any 10 yr old car to be less than 100K

Any car you buy under $1000 will be headed that way pretty soon anyway.
Q: where can i find a used car under $1000?
because i can get to 500/600 this week and i need a website where i can find a cheaper car anywhere like them impound
A: Actually, if you’re looking for a vehicle under $1,000, then I would suggest looking in your local newspaper as well as any local publications. In Illinois for instance, there is a weekly magazine called the “Illinois Auto & RV”, as well as “The Bargin Finder”. These type of publications will have more ads available for vehicles in your price range because it’s far cheaper to list a car with one of those, verses autotrader.com. It still wouldn’t hurt to look on the internet because there might be something listed near you on craigslist. Good luck and I hope this helps.
Q: Where can I find a reliable used car for under 1000 dollars?
I drive about 15 miles each way to work and need something reliable. My credit is poor so going to a dealership is out of the question. Thanks!
A: Look at all the sub-$1000 cars on GetItDaisy.com;

Q: Atlanta, Fulton Area. Used car under 1000?
Do anyone know a reliable place where i can buy a small used car lemon free? i need it for school and work. i tried craigslist and every car seems to be wrecked or needs a lot of work done. I know older used cars need some maintenance but the cars on craigslist are horrible. I’m not too picky on the car. But i do want something atleast decent.
A: You’re kind of in a bind. For under $1,000 anything you find will be old, which means you’ll inevitably encounter problems early-on. (Sorry.)
If it was me, I’d answer ads in the AJC and talk candidly with the current owner. When I bought a used car, I had a mechanic check it out before I agreed to the deal. Also — drive down areas where there’s a concentration of dealerships. I think I saw a sign posted at one of the dealers on Cobb Parkway near Smyrna for cheap (under $1,500) cars. Be patient, have someone knowledgeable accompany you, and you’re bound to find a car that suits you.
Good luck!
Q: What should I look for mechanically if I need to buy a RELIABLE used car for under $1000?
I need something that will get me to and from work and the grocery store and my children to school.
I need to know what I need to look for so I will be able to do that. My son’s are 13 and 11. One is 6 feet and the other is 5′4 inches tall.
A: Oil leaks. Look under the hood – if the engine is really grungy and oily, DON’T BUY IT. Oil leaks are BIG trouble.
If the car shimmies and shakes when you’re driving it – means the car is out of alignment.
Bad tires. Put a penny (head side UP) into the groove of the tread. You need to be able to see the top of Lincoln’s head – if you cannot, then the tire doesn’t have enough tread left for safe driving.
Squealing brakes means you’re going to have to have a brake job SOON.
Look for smoke (I can’t remember if it’s white or blue that’s the BAD one) coming out of the tailpipe when you accelerate – means the head gasket is blown, that is BIG bucks.
What you really should do is to log onto the Car Talk website, and look for trusted, reliable mechanics in your area. It’s really very important to have a good mechanic to give the car a good once-over before you buy it. It’s worth giving him a few bucks – you really can’t rely on just yourself if you’re going to purchase a car which you really will NEED to get back and forth to work.
