Q: Who makes really good reliable sporty cars for under 2000 dollars?
I’m looking for a used car under 2000 dollars.

A: Try your luck at finding a used Honda Civic. They are light weight and parts for the vehicle can be found everywhere.

Q: Any one know where I can find cars for sale under $2000 and that will run?
I need a manual transmission car under $2000 that will run. I’ve tried ebay, autotrader, craigslist… please list if you have a car for sale that meets my requirements and also if you know of any sites.

A: If you have the cash to purchase this car, hit the used car managers of dealers near you, you are the holy grail of buyers–one who is actually looking for a manual transmission, these are generally just dead as far as wholesale goes and somewhat hard to retail. tell them you want to buy it with a drive first. I know I let sales persons put together used car buyers and new car trade-ins to help consummate more sales. I couldn’t have been the only one that practiced it.

Q: Where can I find a good place to search for used cars under $2000?

A: Try www.autotrader.com you can search make, model, and price. Good luck

Q: where are cars under $2000?
where can i find cars that are priced under 2000? im looking for a first car.. where would i look? i live in Pennsylvania…. ive looked in autotrader for a Honda Civic years 93 to 98 without much success.. would anyone have any suggestions on what a first car should be or where to look? the only real restriction is my dad says it needs to be a stick shift not an auto and it need to be a car… no trucks or vans.. any help i would much appreciate.

A: Civics are very good cars and can be found for 2000. Dont be afraid of the ones with higher mileage. They will still last longer than anything else. I would stay away from Hyundais and Kias as they are poorly made and depreciate quickly. After all there is a reason they start out so cheap.
copart.com is probably not a good website for your first car. Most cars there have underlying problems that need to be addressed. I have bought 3 cars there. I recently bought a civic for 2000. White coupe stick.
Ebay is a good place to look but be diligent with the questions.
If you have a mechanic in the family i would look for a car that needs minor work that you can get a big discount on. Some mechanics will sell cars for customers that arent willing to pay to get their car fixed.

Q: Perth WA used cars under $2000 ???? Desperate!!?

Q: Anyone know where I can buy a good car for under $2000 in Tx?
Hey I am looking for a car under $2000. I don’t mind what type of car or truck just as long as it doesn’t look crappy.
I live in Melissa, Tx. Only 30 min. from dallas area.

Thank you.

A: If you are interested in buying a car, but feel as though you simply do not have the money, a government car auction might be the best opportunity for you.
There are there kinds of car auctions:
Dealer only auctions — only licensed dealers are allowed to buy or sell cars,You can not get in or bid without being a licensed car dealer or an employee.
Public auctions — the public is allowed in.In fact, you usually cant by anything from public ‘open’ auctions because usually the pricing is too high.
Government and Police auctions — Every day, the government confiscates, seizes and repossesses thousands of Vehicles. These vehicles are usually typically listed at 90% OFF their original value and auctions usually start at $100.

Four months ago,I bouht a near new SUV from online government auction. It only cost me $730 and i have not had one problem with it yet .
You can check out http://economy-car.info ,That site lists top 5 Police auction sites and help you choose the best one.
Good luck!

Q: Where can I search for cars under $2000?
I’ve been looking on craigslist, but I wanted other places to look. Autotrader didn’t have too many hits.

A: ebay

Q: What should I look for when buying an old car under $2000?
Just got back from volunteering abroad. Don’t have much money left and am looking for work. I need a car that lasts me at least a year until I can afford something nicer. I’ve been looking at hatchbacks (Honda Civic etc.) and I’d prefer a manual. Can a mechanic safely predict how long the car will last (more or less). I’m worried about buying a cheap car that will break down and die within a few months. What do you suggest?

A: First, kudos on volunteering. Good choice to buy cheap rather than take a loan.

A mechanic can only give you a snapshot of the vehicle’s condition. He cannot reliably predict failures. You should still get any potential purchases checked out.

Saturns are good cars that tend to be overlooked, and there are plenty with manual transmissions (and cheap!) Top choices are Honda, Toyota, and Nissan (and the prices reflect it). You could probably get an early ’90s Buick Century/Olds Ciera for next to nothing, and they run forever (ugly, cheap and reliable). Ford Escorts from ‘92 up are pretty good.

Try online listings. Military bases have lots for deploying personnel to sell their cars and college towns always have beater cars for sale. You could even pick up a used cop car at a county auction for cheap.

Good luck.

Q: Looking for a car under $2000, what would you suggest?
So far my top choice is a 93 Honda del sol, but really anything that’s cheap to maintain would be great.

A: whatever car you buy have it checked out by a mechanic well worth the money

Q: im looking for a reliable car under 2000 dollars where can i find a car for that price?
4 door gunna last a while under 2000 dollars

A: You will be lucky to find a car that runs at that price, let alone last a while.

Search for Hondas at http://www.autotrader.com

Q: Where can I find the best quality cars for under $2000?

A: craigslist.com

Q: First Car, under $2000, Toyota or Honda?
I’m 17 nearly 18 and I’ll be moving out of the my parents house in the next 8 months. So I need a dependable car through college. I’ve had a jab for nearly 9 months but haven’t been able to save up too much money due to college visits and other unplanned spendings. I have 1000 dollars in my pocket right at this moment, but am willing to wait a few more months for a good car. I’m sick of mooching off my parents for a ride or if I can barrow their gas glutton 2005 GMC Safari,(Ive named her Bertha but am not attached). Im considering buying my car off of craigslist because i truly don’t want to have to worry about a car loan through college and would rather a dependable low millage (under 150k) toyota camry or corolla 93-95 or a Honda Civic or Accord 94-96. Should I take this route, and/or do you have any suggestions for a car otherwise.

A: Over the years, the public has set the Accord/Camry on a really high pedestal (not for any especially good reason), and so they cost alot more to buy used than they should. I would suggest a 1995-1996 Cutlass Ciera or a 1995-2000 Buick Century (which was the same as the Olds in ‘95 and ‘96).
Pros:
Very Reliable
Comfortable
Good gas mileage(I got 29 mpg on highway, with the AC on and going 85 mph)
Cost thousands less than Accord/Camry w/ same mileage and year
Safe
REALLY cheap insurance(mine’s $400/yr, I am a 16 year old male)
Just about the easiest cars to work on, with the cheapest and easiest to find parts.

Cons
They aren’t exciting. They aren’t slow, but many would find them boring

But I’m happy with mine. Great car.
My advice as to where you can find such a car: Craigslist.
And as they will always tell you, get a mechanic you trust to look at it. That is the most important part of the whole process.
Good luck.

Q: Is it possible for me to buy a good used car for under $2000?
Hey im planning on buying a car soon but i think im only going to have enough for like around 2000$. I dont need a new car or a 2000 model all i need is a good car that has good miles so i can drive and is good. Is this possible and tell me where i can search for them

A: Look in local classifieds and check into eBay. A good idea if your not familiar with cars around $50 to check the car out.

Q: What is the best car for under $2000?
I’m 16 and buying my first car, I need something that will last for a few years with little or no repairs. It also has to be under $2000. Any reccomendations?? I heard toyota and volvo made very dependable cars…

A: Reliable car under $2000. That’s almost an oxymoron.

Most people will give you the cookie cutter response to go with Toyota’s and Honda’s. That’s because they have a very good record of reliable service.

That being said, if you can find a used Honda or Toyota with under 100,000 miles and a clean title, snap it up. It’s a great deal.

It is unlikely that you will find one so here’s a list of other reliable cars (based on consumer reports) that should fit into your budget.

‘93 GEO Metro ’95-’96; Prizm ’93; Tracker ‘94 NISSAN Sentra ‘93 SUBARU Impreza ‘93 SUZUKI Sidekick ’94; Swift ’95-96

All of these cars have shown above average reliability and should be easier to find than the coveted Honda or Toyota.

Good luck. ( I have a 16 year old son that will be driving soon too)

Q: What is THE best car for under $2000?
I’ve just watched an episode of top gear in which three guys got three DECENT cars for under 100 Pounds. An old Volvo, and old Rover, and an old Audi 80. Of course, they werent close to perfect, but it got me thinking: I’m only a few monthsaway from buying my 1st car, and spent all my money on flight lessons, so whats the best car I can get for under $2000?

A: In my opinion, an older model (like 1986+) Honda or Toyota are the best cars for under 2 grand. They are capable of getting 300,000 miles on them, especially if they weren’t beat to hell. But they can get close to that even if they have been beat. I had one with 250,000 miles on it and it just kept on going like the energizer bunny, I LOVED it. I got it for about 1700 bucks. An Audi, Volvo, or Rover may be inexpensive to buy used, up front BUT parts are outrageous to find and/ or buy!!
