Q: Do service members get a discount on cars?
I joined the US Army and I heard that Service Members get a discount on select models of cars. I was just wondering if they do and if so, how much of a discount?
A: All I can say is DO NOT go through the military MILES PROGRAM that a dealership can offer to you If you have little or no credit and need to finance for a loan.
I did it once, two months later I had to return the car. Every week somehow they up’ed the price on the monthly payments. Is it legal?
Not sure. I went to BBB and got my money back and voided the paper work.
There is some, about $500 discount but in the end with cars it’s not really a ”deal”. If I was you I would go AWAY from a military town or city and purchase your car there. Dealerships around post Rip off ALL soldiers. My platoon Sergeant counsels everyone on it here.
One other word of advice, If your loan is 15% or higher or ”0%” finance that is a no-go, un less you want to pay about $6k more than the car is worth in the end.
Your better off buying a Clear title) car/suv/truck off craigslist. Just remember to get the Carfax for it. hooah.
If you have enough money, still buying a brand new car is not always the smartest idea, or preowned. What I did was buy a 03′ Chrysler Sebring for $3500 all up front. The car has been great. Just buy some used car like that and save all your money so when your out of the army you can buy something like a dodge charger, like some guys I know have done:)
when you deploy there are dealerships on base as a 3rd party to buy a car when you get back. You get the best deal that way. Wait to buy a new car that way.
hope I helped some
Q: Is it right for the Government to use tax payers money to discount new cars?
After years of making motorists out to be the worse thing that could ever happen to the planet, is it right to use tax payer’s money to give discounts on on new car purchases? Surely anyone who can afford to buy a brand new car will probably not be driving a banger anyway, so it’s nothing to do with the environment but just another tax break for the more well off.. again. Paid for by the less well off.
A: Darned if you do, darned if you don’t….. Cars are big ticket items that help keep the economy green and LOTS of people employed. Conventional wisdom may be that the green of the planet is just now less important than these other factors, would be my thought. Nobody can ever accuse governments of taking a long view.
Q: How much of a discount is there on used cars?
The car I want is $26,000 at the lowest price. If I got it used, how much of a discount could I expect to get? I know this is a vague question because there are so many different variables, but I live in a middle class city and I want a car that is in good condition but it doesn’t have to be perfect.
Also are there any websites that list used cars?
A: There is no ‘discount’. All vehicles lose value as soon as they are not ‘new’. How much depends on what it is , how old it is, and its condition.
The second part of your question: yes there are. ” cars.com” is one.
Q: Can anyone tell me how I can get discount codes for rental cars like hertz, ect?
I am going to be traveling the beginning of November. I have 2 young chldren and I need a rental car, but they are so expensive. Can anyone tell me of any discount codes? It will be greatly appreciated.
A: I see rental car coupons for Avis, Budget, Enterprise and Thrifty at: http://www.couponheaven.com/subcategory.cfm/103
Q: Can you get a better discount buying two cars at once?
my daughters about to be 16 and she might be getting a new car, but her brothers getting a new car too. Does anyone know if there are any discounts or better prices with buying two cars at once instead of getting one, and then another about 6 months down the road?
A: Sure there is and especially now with the way the economy is….you can just about name your own price to some degree…the dealerships are very hungry now..
Q: Is there actually a place online you can look up seized and forclosed cars at discount prices?
Yes there are all those television adds out there where you call and they tell you all the recent seizures and such. This day in age there must be a database online of these things. Any ideas?
A: These are the best answer links I know.

Q: How much of a discount should I expect if I buy two used cars at once from the same dealer?
I’m going to be buying two used cars at the same time from the same dealer in the coming months. How much should I expect them to discount the price since I’m buying two cars? I don’t know what cars yet, but they will probably be 2007/2008 in the 25-45,000 miles range for under $20,000.
A: Impossible to say.
Generally, they will make money on both cars but if you are buying 2 they might be willing to make less than if 2 different buyers.
So instead of making $2000 per car, they MIGHT agree to $3500 on both.
But you have no way of knowing their cost or anything.
The biggest thing you have is the ability to walk if they wont come down to what you think is reasonable.
LOTS of dealers would LOVE to sell 2 cars.
Q: Has anyone bought a car from UK Discount Cars.co.uk?
I plan to buy a car over the internet from UK-Discount-Cars.co.uk, they seem very reputable and there is a substantial discount on the car I plan to buy. Has anyone used them and were they as good as they suggest they are on the website?
A: Do you mean uk-discount-cars.co.uk or do you mean uk-car-discount.co.uk? The first is simply a web portal and NOT a car sales site, the second IS a car sales site and one that I know of. They are most definitely one of the more reputable online car retailers.
I am assuming that it is a new car you are interested in and not a second hand car. If this is correct then I suggest you take a look at http://www.cars2buy.co.uk/ which is a new car price comparison site and you will be able to compare prices of new cars from online retailers and main franchised dealers.
A couple of other reputable online new car retailers are http://www.buyacar.co.uk/ and http://www.new-car-discount.com/
Q: For people who work at a car dealership, what kind of discount on cars do you get from working there?
Preferably a jeep/GM/dodge/chrysler dealership, and if it matters, working in Florida
also, how long did it take for you to get that discount?
A: I work at a ford chrysler dealer including jeep an average about 500 – 1200 dollars off. Not so gr8
Q: So do new Chrysler cars have a big discount since they have sold the company?
I saw on the news the other morning that Chrysler was sold and that there were some large discounts but I cant find anything of that sort online. I have a 2002 GMC Yukon that I owe way too much on and if a new car could eat up some negative equity I would love to trade but not sure if I should.
A: There are big discounts at the 789 dealers that are closing, but you’d better hurry. They are closing Monday the 15th. Until then they will be selling at any price over what surviving dealers will pay them for their unsold inventory. Chrysler is not setting a fixed price below cost, so there’s no way of knowing what that “great deal” is.
It doesn’t matter. It’s still a BAD IDEA.
The economics of a “trade down” depend on the relative equity of the traded car versus the bought car. If your equity is already negative, you are not going to improve it by trading for anything.
Any new vehicle you buy will have negative equity the minute you drive it off the lot. Add that to the negative equity you already have (they have to pay off your Yukon), and you are digging yourself an even deeper hole.
There’s an old saying, I think it was Will Rogers who said it first. “If you find yourself in a hole, the first thing to do is stop digging.”
Q: Is it true that there is some type of discount on cars if you are a college graduate?
A: Sometimes yes. Manufacturers often run ‘College Grad’ rebates, which have some stipulations and restrictions. For instance, if you qualified for a supplier discount on a Ford Focus and were a recent college grad, then you would have to choose between the 2 because they are not compatible.
Another common stipulation is the graduate had to be no more than 2 years out of college and sometimes the actual degree must qualify. This will vary between manufacturers.
So yes, there is sometimes a legitimate college graduate discount. This discount
Q: PEP cars from GM what is the discount for buyers?
Hi,
I’m currently looking at buying a 2009 Vibe that was a pep car. However, I don’t know how much of a discount I should be getting. The dealer said something like $5 per payment but that doesn’t add up to much when the car is used. Does anyone know how much of a discount I should get? Help please!
A: Right now I would be looking at a brand new one because of the employee pricing promotion offered. It only applies to brand new never titled units, but the discount is pretty good. I am not sure about a Vibe but a friend just bout a Chevy pickup and saved $4000 from when he looked just two months ago.
Q: do car dealers usually give a discount to their employees that need repair on their cars?
it they do, how much percent of discount?
A: I worked at a Pontiac Buick GMC dealership and they gave us a discount of almost 50% on labour and cost +15% on parts. Also, some of the mechanics would offer to fix my car for cash after hours. Saved me a bunch of money!
Q: WHAt is the employee discount on dodge cars???/?
im looking at a dodge car an i will be able to get the employee discount, what would the discount be on a 2007 dodge charger se (22,000)
PLEASE help me figure this out
A: The Chrysler Employee Discount (which applies to all their brands — Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep) can be found here:
https://www.dc-employeeadvantage.com/employeeadvantage/login.jsp
You’ll need to log in using your Chrysler employee ID.
If you’re not actually an employee and are getting a discount through the “Employee Choice” referral program, you’ll need to have your employee friend login and check the prices for you.
Q: When joining the navy how much is the discount on Cars, and Homes?
A: You can get a VA guarantee on a home loan, doesn’t really change the rate though. Only way you can get a discount on a car is if you buy it while you’re overseas through PX (Aafes) new car sales…
