A: You should wait until the BK is final; the reason is 1) you are not supposed to have that much cash 2) you should not change your assets until he BK is final 3) a creditor may throw a monkey wrench in the works and you have to answer some more questions under oath before it is all done, and you would have to reveal the car or risk having your BK thrown out 5) there is too much risk for too little reward 6) if you absolutely cannot live and I mean get to work, see if you can rent one for the interim from a “junk car rental place” 7) you NEED to not change your status at all until it is final 8) you should be asking your BK attorney this question I hope you have beed advised that you cannot increase your income AT ALL until your BK is final, the rulkes are so strict that I am amzed that a two earner family was able to pass the means test for a chapter 7…good luck and don’t risk having your chapter 7 converted to a 13

A: Look up “Rent a Wreck” in many places you can “rent” for $7-10 daily even less for full weeks, full months! If you buy a car, you have to supply insurance and between the purchase cost, insurance, then having to sell it, you may well spend more than that. At $10/day for 60 days, thats a total of $600.

What will insurance for you run for the same period? How much will you get when you resell? How long will the selling part take? And if it breaks what will the repair cost?
Cheap used cars do tend to need service sometimes.

The idea that you can sell within a short time frame is the main kicker to your plan to buy one. Just an opinion.

A: You need to take out a loan and buy something a little more reliable that what you can get for $1100 especialy with a new baby. You are most likely going to be fixing several things on it very quickly and unless you know a good mechanic you will very soon be spending the difference on repairs.
